Every parent worries about the safety of his or her child. Motor vehicle crashes are the leading cause of death for children under age 5, and every time a child travels as a passenger in a motor vehicle they are at risk of being involved in a crash.
Kids in the Back was born out of a need for more child seat inspection and education services to be made available to families, caregivers and service providers in the Lower Mainland of British Columbia. Colleen Blundell and Lisa Snell are the team that provides the service.
Colleen Blundell is a former teacher and a Certified Child Passenger Safety Educator who has been a contractor with the BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation Child Passenger Safety Program since 2003. Colleen has inspected thousands of seats and has taught many information sessions during her tenure and she is excited to be able to offer this service to families, caregivers and service providers. Colleen lives in the Lower Mainland with her husband Bruce and their children Annie and Jack.
Lisa Snell is a Certified Child Passenger Safety Educator who has been a contractor with the BCAA Traffic Safety Foundation Child Passenger Safety Program since 2007. Being a professional photographer who specializes in childrens' portraits, Lisa found the transition to child passenger safety an easy one. Lisa lives in the Lower Mainland with her children Noah and Jenna.
