Kids in the Back provides 1.5 hour New Parent Workshops for expectant parents which include:

- 1 hr. of hands on, in class instruction that teaches participants how to:

        - Disassemble and reassemble an infant car seat.

        - How to correctly harness an infant.

        - How to correctly install and use a child seat in a vehicle.

        - An optional inspection of the child seat installation in a vehicle.

- A review of current British Columbia Child Seat Law.

- A discussion of  crash dynamics to understand how a child car seat functions in the event of a crash.

- A detailed information sheet, available for each age and stage of development, to take for future reference.


Workshop participants must bring:

Child car seat,  doll or teddy bear (to fit in seat),  2 receiving blankets,  instructional manual for car seat and vehicle owners manual.
